Advertiser Free New Product Editorials

As an advertiser you are encouraged to take advantage of free editorial coverage for your new products.

Stores read the Needlework Retailer for one reason: to find new and exciting products to sell in their store. So you definitely want to feature your new products in a product editorial.

The product editorials are intended for new needlework products, but it can also be used to highlight additions or changes to a product line. For example, a new color or new size. The free advertiser product editorials are typically located at the top of the page, with paid ads along the bottom.

Tips

You can send us your own product photo (.tif or .jpg digital image), or send us a sample and we will take a photo. If you submit a digital  image, we would like the photo to be about 750 pixels wide to get the best quality picture. The minimum width should be 450 pixels wide. Do not worry about the photo being too large; if there is any question just send a larger image.

You can submit a suggested editorial text, or we will write it for you. Just let us know the important selling features of the product, and the suggested retail price. If you write your own product text we may need to edit the text to fit the space or to make it consistent in style.

If you write a product description, avoid unverified descriptions: "a beautiful design...", not "the most beautiful design ever..." [either would be acceptable in an ad, but not in an editorial]. The editorials are third person, not first person: "ABC Designs new design...", not "our new design..." [again, either would be acceptable in a ad].
